Announcing Upcoming Events for the High Country Brass (HCB) 2009-2010 Season
By Mike Ryan, President of the HCPAA Board of Directors

HCB intends on marching in many shows over the summer, and is therefore attempting a very aggressive schedule for the 2010 spring and summer season. Spring shows will include events held by Rocky Mountain Color Guard Association (RMCGA) and Rocky Mountain Percussion Association (RMPA). Summer shows will include multiple Colorado drum corps shows.  We are also investigating the possibility of traveling to California, Texas, or Minnesota to participate in either DCI or DCA events. It is also our intention to march in parades and charity events as determined by the HCB management team.

HCB is organizing small brass ensembles to perform Christmas music in the Colorado Front Range area between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. More information will be available in the near future.

We have been invited, once again, to fill in for the pep band at the University of Denver basketball games during the school’s winter break. We will play concert instruments (instead of the G Bugles), and these events are open to all members, family, and friends who can join us to play. Check out www.highcountrybrass.org for a schedule and more information about these gigs!

“The prospect of the upcoming season is very exciting and will require an even higher level of commitment from all of our talented people on and off the field,” said Frank Lude, director of High Country Brass, at a recent HCPAA board meeting. “I am very excited by the new staff additions to the organization: Doug Harris as musical director, George Lindstrom, visual designer and drill instructor, and Jon Van Zandt, percussion director. Other staff people may be joining and assisting the corps as the season progresses.”

In addition to the new staff, Lisa Cowden and Todd Knudson will continue in their positions of working with the guard.

Our 2010 show is ramping up to be our best year yet. Come experience the excitement!
